Tectoo is a design studio created in 2015 by Arch. Susanna Scarabicchi, Principal of the office, former partner of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW), whose experience and expertise have been appreciated around the world, developing an important portfolio of projects focused on urban regeneration, and the Arch. Andrea Peschiera, Partner/Director of the studio, who developed his professional career in international contexts from China to the United Kingdom, before joining RPBW in Genoa, where he followed important developments in Europe, the United States and Australia.
Both share the experimental approach and research on technical excellence, expressed in every project. Just to mention a few as a reference: Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, MUSE – Science Museum in Trento, Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, One Sydney Harbour in Sydney and Milanosesto Masterplan in Milan.
Tectoo is deeply rooted by architectural, environmental, and social convictions for what designing for the future means. Creating something new in a world everyday more fragile requires the profound awareness that the best building concepts grow by means of a rigorous and innovative approach. Our view is that creating good architecture involves developing and implementing competencies in collaboration with an extensive network of experts from many fields and disciplines, whilst engaging in a strong relationship with our clients in order to define common goals. We are able to offer an exceptional baggage of knowledge and expertise that embraces every aspect of a building’s design, ensuring continuity and quality at every stage of a project, combining advanced building technology with more traditional and crafted techniques. Every project requires adaptability, which is a fundamental quality we have acquired having worked with a variety of clients including Individuals, City Councils, Boards of Trustees and developers, translating and interpreting their needs and expectations while linking the collective demands of the public and the environmental context.
Since the opening, Tectoo has developed projects in various sectors, from educational and cultural to residential and commercial, until the hospitality and health care sectors. Among all, the studio is currently working on the construction site for the refurbishment and residential transformation of the Former Hotel Angst in Bordighera (one of the most prestigious hotel in Europe of the last century), on the construction site of the VP22 project in Via Vittor Pisani in Milan ( LEED Platinum, Well Gold, NZEB Building), in the design of the new The Student Hotel, now The Social Hub in Turin (redevelopment of a brown field for approximately 36,000 sqm), as well as the project of the luxury hotel, former Hotel Vienna Touring in Riccione, the new Hospital of Vigevano in Italy and a luxury residential development in Monte Carlo.
